The Resource Center for Parents and Children is currently seeking a WIC Manager. The WIC Manager provides direction and oversight to the planning and management of the WIC Department. This position is responsible for supervising personnel, ongoing operations, and works with partner organizations and ensures high quality WIC and Breastfeeding Peer Counseling services are provided to eligible women, infants and children in the Fairbanks Community and surrounding areas.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college in public health, health administration, nutrition, nursing, epidemiology, health sciences, health education, family and consumer science with emphasis in nutrition, community health, the biological sciences, or closely related field OR Registered Dietitian.
  • 4 years professional experience administering or providing specialized health care or public health services or programs to include at least 1 year of supervisory experience. The required professional experience includes work such as a registered nurse, public health nurse, nurse consultant, health program specialist or manager, health and social services planner, nutritionist, health practitioner, advanced nurse practitioner, and physicians assistant OR a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college in addition to 5 years of current WIC administrative or managerial experience OR a Masters Degree from an accredited college will substitute for 2 years of the required work experience.
  • Must be willing to successfully complete the WIC Competent Professional Authority (CPA) Training Program within 6 months of hire if not previously certified. Certification requires 12 hours of continuing education annually to maintain competency.

RCPC’s WIC Program is currently hiring for the following position: WIC Registered Dietitian

Under the direct supervision of the WIC Manager, the WIC RD’s primary responsibility is to ensure the delivery of program services in compliance with State and RCPC’s guidelines, policies and procedures. Responsibilities of this position include providing leadership to implement WIC quality measures through effective program Management. Provides and supervise services to clients applying and/or established as participants eligible to receive WIC benefits. Duties also include interviewing and assessing the nutritional status of the client(s) by which the eligibility status will be determined. Insures certification data, food package codes and non‐contract formula approvals complete and in compliance with the State policies. The Clinical Supervisor will also provide individual and group training in nutrition education for the various stages of the life cycle and promote breastfeeding as the optimum way to feed a baby.
